PORTRAITS THAT MOVE KEEPS SUMMER VACATION ALIVE YEAR-ROUND

Award-Winning Filmmaker Creates Mini Movies of Families Enjoying Time-Off; Available on the East Coast as of Summer 2015

NEW YORK, NY (June 9, 2015) — Fireflies, campfires, romping on the beach, playing tag in the backyard, riding bikes around the neighborhood – those special summer moments seem to slip away too quickly. Now, Portraits That Move, a Brooklyn-based company that creates compelling mini documentary videos of young children, is introducing a way to counteract the fleeting nature of the season. Launching just in time for Summer 2015, the new #SUMMERPORTRAIT --a mini documentary film designed to capture a day in the life of the family frolicking on the beach, lounging by the lodge or sitting by the swimming pool-- will help parents stay present to those precious seasonal sights and sounds, while preserving the memories for a lifetime.

For $2000, the award-winning team of filmmakers will follow the family for a day, as they enjoy their time-off together. The result: An incredible 3-5 minute mini documentary that they can enjoy year-round.  Available on the East Coast, families can schedule this service via http://www.portraitsthatmove.com/contact/. Those who book prior to July 1, will get 40 percent off.

“Surveys show that only about 45 percent of Americans take a summer vacation[1]. But, whether you can only do a weekend trip or a proper family getaway, it feels like the season flies by,“ says Susannah Ludwig, award-winning filmmaker and founder of Portraits that Move. “Our #SummerPortrait is designed to capture that ephemeral joy and help people treasure moments with their families – allowing everyone to participate in the experience, and not get stuck behind a camera. This is a perfect way to extend the fleeting season beyond Labor Day.”

PTM releases the "Snapshot" Just in time for the holiday season

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Local Filmmaker Offers Alternative to Traditional Holiday Cards

Brooklyn, NY - October 22, 2014

Portraits that Move, a local parent-owned Brooklyn business that creates compelling documentary films, made by award winning filmmakers, announces a new product for families who want to share unique holiday greetings.

New for the upcoming holiday season, Portraits that Move offers a “Snapshot” to celebrate the season. The “Snapshot” is a documentary film, custom created by Portraits that Move to share holiday greetings electronically to an unlimited number of recipients. Like the company’s signature Moving Portrait product, it consists of one-on-one filming by a professional, award-winning filmmaker from the Portraits that Move team. The final product, a 60 – 90 second film, is a creative, contemporary alternative to the traditional holiday card. It does not require printing, stamping or shipping, and captures a moment in time from the perspective of a child just as he or she is today.

Academy Award® nominated Susannah Ludwig, Founder of Portraits that Move, says “the Snapshot is the perfect way for families to capture the magic of this year, to share news and spread love to family and friends. Just like with our full portraits, we are honored to provide a way for families to remember, celebrate and share in a special way that is uniquely their own. "Susannah and her team create moving portraits with professional quality image, sound and editing.

Susannah says her experience interviewing kids, “allows us to bring out the best of them by getting close enough to allow them the space to just be who they are in the most joyful way possible.”

Families can purchase a Snapshot or a Moving Portrait at Runnin’ Wild Toys in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn. Portraits that Move Snapshots are also available for scheduling online at portraitsthatmove.com. Portraits that Move works with families in New York City and in select cities and towns on the East Coast.
